Synopsis It took twenty-four hours for Emma’s world to shatter, leaving her broken. Returning to her childhood home, Emma wonders if it could be exactly what she needs to heal.
Dane finally has a chance at the girl he lost all those years ago. When Emma blows back into his world, he knows he won’t let her go again.
They’re drawn together, their chemistry undeniable. Emma just needs to decide whether she’s willing to risk her heart when it’s just begun to heal.
Excerpt From All About Hope Ollie runs to the end of the arena, waiting for my cue. Kicking my heels out, I say, “Whoa.” He slides to a stop, the tracks he’s left behind are straight and true.
After leaving Emma’s house an hour ago, I desperately needed to get my mind off weddings, and relationships, and stupid men who fuck me and then avoid me after giving me a taste of something I forgot I desperately needed.
So, I saddled Ollie and have been going through some reining patterns. Show season is upon us, the first in just over a month, and I want to be sure we’re ready.
Lifting my right rein, I roll my spur into his left flank. He spins on the spot, the room around us blurring with the speed of the spin. Stopping him, I let him rest a moment before lifting my left rein and this time rolling my spur into his right flank. He spins in the opposite direction, the tightness of the circle envied by many.
Ollie is eight years old and has been my reining horse since we entered the Futurity, the chance for first time reining horses to show what they have and win big, when he was three years old. In the five years I’ve had him, the bond we’ve formed is envied both in and out of the arena. He will be with me until the day he dies, despite offers of tens of thousands of dollars to buy him.
Patting Ollie on his neck, I frown when I see Alex through the large windows at the end of the arena. Everything I’ve been trying to clear my head of comes back with a vengeance. It really bothers me that Alex initiated what happened that night, and then proceeded to avoid me like I’m a carrier of the plague.
I didn’t ask him to pin me against the counter and kiss me with an explosive passion that still has my body thrumming six months later. Nor did I ask him to wrap my legs around his waist and fuck me until I had the most earth shattering orgasm I’ve ever experienced.
Growling, I nudge Ollie into a canter, circling the arena working on lead changes until we are both covered in a sheen of sweat. I love the speed of this sport, and the connection between horse and rider. It’s a testament to how frustrated I am that I don’t feel better after a solid hour of working.
Slowing Ollie to a trot, I begin our cooldown. When his breathing has slowed, I dismount and walk him around the arena a couple times to ensure he’s cooled down enough. Leading him to the tie stall, I quickly untack him and rub him down until his coat shines before settling him into his stall with some feed and his supplements. The entire time I perform my tasks, I’m remembering that night with such acuity that by the time I’m done putting his tack away, my body is quivering in need.
Scowling, I clench my thighs trying to alleviate the ache, getting more and more pissed off at Alex the entire time. He did this to me. I was fine. I met my own needs and didn’t need anything from anyone. Now, I can’t come unless it’s to images in my head of that night with Alex. He’s ruined my ability to need nothing from anyone.
Flipping the lights, I burst through the door cursing under my breath and crash into a hard, hot body. Glancing up, I step back into the now closed door of the barn. “Alex.”
Alex’s hazel eyes take in my disheveled appearance. My hair is wild from running patterns with Ollie, my skin covered in a light layer of sweat and dust. When his eyes fall on the slight sliver of skin showing between my jeans and tank top, his eyes shoot back to mine where they bore into my soul. He steps back a foot, his eyes moving between mine and the barn door as he tries to think of something to say. “I didn’t know you were in the barn.”
“I was working Ollie. We have a show in May.” Tucking my hands in my back pockets, I lean back, propping one foot against the wall, trying to ignore the way my body has lit up from the inside. I’ve spent the last ninety minutes replaying that one night, and now the object of my desire is standing here looking at me with false indifference. Despite his best efforts, I know he’s still attracted to me, because if he wasn’t, he wouldn’t be avoiding me all of the damn time.
When he starts to turn without another word, I shove off the wall, closing the distance between us.
Enough is enough.
I fist my hand in his shirt when he moves to walk away again, and step into him, tilting my head up so he can’t avoid looking at me. “You’ve been avoiding me.”
“No . . .” He tries to look away, but I raise my other hand and hold it against the back of his head.
“Don’t lie to me, Alex. We used to spend time together, and now you don’t remain in a room with me more than the necessary amount of time to be considered polite. Don’t even get me started on the fact you haven’t been alone with me since the engagement party.
“What I don’t get is that you’re the one who initiated that night. You’re the one who made the first move, not me. I haven’t been some clingy chick you picked up in a bar, so what gives?” Holding him in place, I glare up at him, locking his gaze in mine.
He sighs and runs a hand down his face before looking at my hand still grasping his shirt. “I’ve been a dick for no reason, haven’t I?”
“Well, I wasn’t going to use those exact words, but yeah.” Grinning, I drop my hand when he chuckles softly.
“In the heat of the moment, all I could think about was you and how much I wanted to feel you. Afterwards, all I could think about was everyone else and what they would do if they found out. I don’t want a relationship and the pressure would be there, I know how Emma thinks.” His smirk drops into a frown as I gape at him.
“That is the lamest thing I’ve ever heard. Your hot factor just dropped by two points.” Crossing my arms over my chest, I narrow my eyes. His Adam’s apple bobs as he swallows, but there is a slight smirk he’s fighting at my comment. Cocking my hip out, I scowl. “Let’s go through these one at a time. First off, no one knows what happened and there is no reason for them to know. Second, you’re assuming I want a relationship; that’s something I haven’t had the desire for in a long time. Been there, done that, and I have the emotional scarring as a souvenir.”
Alex has made me wonder, hope even, but for the most part I’m still leery of entering a relationship, especially with someone as skittish as Alex, so I don’t feel like I’m lying.
“My hot factor?” Alex grins at me, cocking his head to the side in a way that is too cute. He’s trying to distract me, but it won’t work.
“Seriously? That’s what you took from that?” Shaking my head, I step toward him and place my hand on his chest, pressing my body into his. For a moment, all I can think about is the hard muscle beneath my hand and remembering the way it looked when he pounded into me.
Grinding my teeth, I focus back on the man before me. “All I want is someone I trust to have hot sex with. Get your head out of your ass and think about it. If that’s not what you want, fine, but we’re friends Alex, and it hurts my feelings that it’s so easy for you to forget that.”
Lifting onto my toes, I press a chaste kiss to his lips, drawing away before he can react. Brushing past him, I saunter to my house.
I’m not a pushover, and I’m not going to let him get away with this shitty behavior any more.

Today is release day for UNLOCKING SECRETS, the second book in the adult mystery/romantic suspense series, Keys to Love, by USA Today bestselling author, Kennedy Layne. See below for information on the book, buy links, and an exclusive excerpt.
UNLOCKING SECRETS (Keys to Love #2) by Kennedy Layne
Synopsis Their homecoming wasn’t so welcoming. Four brothers and one sister each gave twelve years of their lives to serve their country and fulfill their family’s legacy of service. As each of them return to their home of record, they weren’t prepared for what awaited them—an unforgiveable sin that has been hidden for twelve long years. Secrets and lies are concealed in the dark shadows of the very town they were raised in, and the Kendall family will have no choice but to rely on one another to unravel the sinister evil that they all hold the keys to unlock.
About Unlocking Secrets
A grim discovery in Lance Kendall’s home proved one thing—the residents of Blyth Lake had a serial killer in their midst. Now Lance had unintentionally put a target on his back. Worst yet, he’s made the only woman he ever loved known to a murderer.
A trip down memory lane with the man who’d broken Brynn Mercer’s heart wasn’t the smartest thing she’d ever done in her life, but their reunion was a slow burn of temptation that she couldn’t ignore.
Together, they will only have one chance to correct the past. Will the hidden secrets he uncovered threaten their love or solidify it for a future that has always been out of their reach?
Excerpt “Have dinner with me tomorrow.” Lance waited for Brynn to either accept his invitation or try to find an excuse as to why that wouldn’t be the best of ideas. Honestly, he thought it was a fantastic suggestion. He gently rested his hand on hers when it was obvious she was going to stand and push her stool back. “I’ve missed you for far too long, blondie.”
Brynn pursed her lips to keep from smiling at the old nickname he’d given her back in high school. She’d gone through a phase of listening to the old rock band, and he’d caught her singing at the top of her lungs at one of the intersections in town. It was in that moment when she hadn’t thought anyone was watching that he’d caught a glimpse of the carefree woman she was on the inside. That one hapless unguarded moment had captured the heart of a teenage boy.
There were times throughout the last twelve years that he wasn’t sure he’d ever gotten his heart back, because he’d never been able to fully commit to any other woman. Then again, it might have had to do with the fact that he’d been deployed every so many months.
Military life was certainly hard on relationships, let alone committed ones.
“We went our separate ways, Lance,” Brynn said softly, though he could hear her regret. Still, she slowly pulled her hand from underneath his. “We can’t change what was done.”
“You’d be surprised at what could be changed if you want it bad enough.”
Lance stood and reached for his wallet, but the narrowing of her caramel colored eyes had him rethinking his gesture.
“This was two old friends having a drink,” Brynn said, tilting her head to one side as if she were sizing him up for some reason. “I’m not open for business.”
She only ever looked at him like that when she was about to propose something that would no doubt get them in trouble. He held up a finger and tossed her words back at her good-naturedly, though he respectively disagreed with her belief.
“We can’t change the past, as you said, so I’d rethink whatever it is you’re about to suggest.”
Lance waited a few more seconds, hoping that she would throw caution to the wind and propose whatever had been on her mind.
“Stubborn,” Lance muttered with a shake of his head, her laugh ringing out over the bar as if it were Christmas. He hadn’t realized how much he’d missed home until this very moment. What surprised him most was that he thought of her as home. “I have missed you, blondie. I can’t help but wonder how much time we’re both going to waste pretending we’re just old friends.”

Today is release day for FAST BURN, the fourth stand-alone book in the adult contemporary romantic suspense series, Body Armor, by New York Times bestselling author, Lori Foster. See below for information on the book and series, buy links, and the exclusive excerpt.
Synopsis For the woman who’s his perfect match, he’s willing to break the rules…
The moment Brand Berry meets beautiful, driven Sahara Silver, the connection between them is electric. It’s also something he can’t pursue. Sahara wants him, sure—to join Body Armor, where his MMA skills, size, and cocky attitude make him perfect for her elite crew of bodyguards. For Sahara, the agency always comes first, and Brand needs more. Yet when she’s kidnapped by men searching for her missing brother, he doesn’t hesitate.
Somewhere along the way, flirting with Brand for the sake of business turned very personal. Despite his refusal to join Body Armor, it’s Brand who steps up when she needs him most. Now there’s no more time for games, and no point denying the hunger they both feel. They’ll escape together or not at all. But if they survive, can Sahara finally surrender control to claim this blazing passion?
Excerpt “Brand Berry is here to see you.”
Surprised, Sahara glanced at Enoch, her right-hand man and very good friend. “Brand is here?” She immediately felt flustered. Absurd. “I wasn’t expecting him. Did I miss a meeting?”
“No.” Enoch lowered his voice in a conspiratorial way. “He said he only needed a minute of your time when you were free, and since you’re free right now—”
“Yes, of course. Show him in.” Even as she said it, a tiny unfamiliar thrill ran through her.
She’d made a point of surrounding herself with some of the finest male specimens on the planet—professional fighters that she’d turned into prime bodyguards, each of them in high demand. It was her vision for Body Armor, to get rid of the stuffy Men in Black clones and offer instead real men, with real muscles, certifiable machismo and lethal ability with or without a weapon.
No, she didn’t fire the previously established bodyguards; that would have been disloyal to her brother, who’d hired them. She simply reassigned them to the more boring cases, and overall they were happy with that.
Anything to do with a celebrity, a dignitary or a politician her elite team now covered.
She desperately wanted to add Brand to that team.
Thinking she’d have a minute, she was just circling out from behind her desk when Brand stepped in around Enoch. Instead of waiting in the guest area, as a client would do, he must have been hovering right outside her door.
Her toes curled in her high heels.
Enoch was on the small side, five-two, slight of build, with average brown hair and eyes. It was his keen intelligence and attention to detail that made him so perfect at his job.
But his size didn’t really matter when he stood next to a man who made most everyone seem small, her included. Brand was a big and badass professional MMA fighter with a solid steel frame of muscle all wrapped up in a cocky attitude.
Faded jeans molded to his thick thighs, going well with his running shoes and an ancient Aerosmith T-shirt that stretched over his chest and broad shoulders. Reflective sunglasses pushed to the top of his head made his golden‑brown hair messy. Darker brown eyes held her captive as he murmured, “Sahara.”
Leaning a hip against her desk, she drank in the rugged, virile sight of him. “Be still my heart.”
Wary exasperation rooted him to the spot.
Yes, she always spoke her mind. Why not? She was the boss and her employees knew her interest in them wasn’t personal. Of course, Brand wasn’t yet an employee.
Putting her hands together, her fingers extended to frame him in a square, she remarked, “A photo of you looking just like that could launch my new line of advertisement.”
He crossed his arms. “Advertisement for what?”
“Bodyguards with ability and sex appeal.” He’d look great on a billboard, maybe with a gun in his hand. She could already see it. Maybe she should ask Enoch to keep a camera at his desk for occasions like this?
When Brand just stood there, his expression amused, she smiled. “Tell me you’ve come to give me good news.” She’d been after him for a few months now to join the agency, constantly throwing out bait, trying to reel him in. He’d nibbled, but he wasn’t caught. Not yet.
“I came to talk about that, yes.”
Elation conflicted with disappointment. There were times when she hoped they could take a different path from employer and employee, one more personal, intimate.
But in the end, the business came first. Always.
She hadn’t given up hope for her brother, and when he finally returned, he deserved to find the company thriving.
She’d put her heart and soul into making that happen. There was no time for anything else.

Today is release day for DATING IN THE DARK, the first book in the adult contemporary romance series, Dating Trilogy, by Alexandria Bishop. See below for information on the book, buy links, and my review. Be sure to scroll all the way down for details on her giveaway.
DATING IN THE DARK (Dating Trilogy #1) by Alexandria Bishop
Synopsis Speed dating. With a stranger. In the dark. As if dating isn’t hard enough already, why not add in a whole new challenge.
According to Tinley’s very pregnant sister, and best friend, binging on Netflix, wine, and cupcakes won’t lead to her happily ever after. What do they know?
Four courses. Four dates. Four very unwelcome, and unwanted courses. An appetizer, salad, dinner, and dessert. Every last one ends in disaster.
Except date number four. Dessert has always been Tinley’s favorite.
He’s a complete mystery, and she can’t seem to stop thinking about him. Whoever he is.
Falling in love wasn’t on her radar but that might be what’s happening between her and mystery date number four.
My Review This was such a great concept and a fun twist on the whole “text dating” trope. When travel tour call center operator, Tinley, is coerced into attending a speed-dating event by her roommate and sister, she decides to at least see where it goes. The setup is simple, speed dating in the dark. Four courses and four “dates”. But as each of the men is worse than the last, she’s sure she can’t get out of there fast enough. Until mystery date number four arrives just in time for dessert. He has a sexy voice and, well, he’s not crazy, unlike her three previous companions. But when date number four turns out to be someone she knows, things go from fun and flirty to complicated as heck.
Plot The story got off a little slow, but picked up at about the 25% mark. It really took off in about the last quarter, but it ends on a cliffhanger. I personally don’t mind cliffhangers, but if you do, please be warned. The second book comes out in May, so it’s not a long wait. There are a few mysteries involving date number four and her roommate, but overall, it felt fairly predictable throughout. At least until the end. The cliffhanger isn’t jaw dropping, but it is a much needed twist to shake things up in what had been a fairly straightforward plot. What the story really lacked for me was some serious conflict to drive the plot.
The Characters I wasn’t sure what to make of Tinley at first. After a ten minute “date” with a guy she never saw, she’s ready to pledge her undying love and make babies with him. I couldn’t decide if she was just that desperate or if she had some serious underlying flaws. She definitely has some issues, and she bounces all over the place with what she wants. Toward the end of this first installment, it becomes clear Tinley’s self doubt stems from the fact that she’s only ever had one job and she doesn’t even like it. She doesn’t know what she wants from life and she and her sister, Tara, had less than stellar parentening. This epiphany should have been the moment that sets Tinley on a path to becomes a different, more enlightened person, but she backslides to her former self more often than not. So I’m back to not being sure what to make of her.
Her roommate and best friends is a bit of an enigma. She’s got some sort of secret life happening, but I didn’t get much of a sense of who she is. The same holds true for the sister. Tara seems to only exist as a prop. I’m hoping to get a lot more of these two in the next installment. My other problem with the characters is the stereotypical nature of far too many of them. The horrible three dates were over the top out there, making them hard to believe. A few other characters were equally underdeveloped, even though they aren’t critical to the plot. At least not yet, anyway. I’ll have to wait and see where the author takes them in the final two books.
Top Five Things I Enjoyed About DATING IN THE DARK 1. The concept. Cool idea, I’m still on the fence about the execution.
2. Smoldering heat. The author does a fabulous job of creating sexual tension.
3. Tara. Even though I don’t really have a strong sense of who she is, she has some of the best lines in the book.
4. Bars with secret passwords. Coolest bar on the planet.
5. Ending. It’s not really an ending so much as a promise of more to come that could really up the stakes.
Bottom Line An interesting start to a trilogy. I’m interested in seeing where this goes.
I was provided with a copy of this book by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Welcome to the Release blitz for GLAM SQUAD & GROOMSMEN, the fourth book in the adult contemporary romance series, Enchanted Bridal, by Samantha Chase. See below for information the book and series, buy links, and an exclusive excerpt.
GLAM SQUAD & GROOMSMEN (Enchanted Bridal #4) by Samantha Chase
Synopsis Dressing up as a bride once a week is all fun and games until you come face to face with your ex.
Penny Blake loves her job with Enchanted Bridal. She gets to model wedding gowns and help brides plan for their big day. And yet…she’s wanting a little more. Besides wishing for her own happily ever after, she has big dreams of making her own contribution to the business in the form of her own glam squad. Her bosses all think it’s a great idea, but right now she’s needed in other ways – like helping out with the groomsmen.
Was there any greater form of torture than having to help your sister plan her wedding?
That’s what Spencer Buchanan is facing and although he goes into it with a bit of an attitude, running into the girl who got away – three times! – suddenly made this whole wedding planning thing a lot more bearable. Moving back home was never part of his plan, but once Spencer sees Penny again, all bets are off. And having her help him with his fittings on his tux turn into his favorite pastime ever!.
Excerpt It was one thing to fantasize about touching Spencer.
It was quite another to actually be doing it.
I love my job.
“How does the jacket feel?” she forced herself to ask as she continued to smooth imaginary wrinkles. “Is it too tight? Too loose? Can you move comfortably?”
Spencer’s expression was serious as he took in his reflection. Stepping back, she let him move his arms and shoulders to get the feel of the suit jacket. It looked good on him. Really good on him. But then again, Penny had a feeling that anything would look good on him. He was tall and lean, she noticed, with just the right amount of muscle – he’d filled out in all the best ways in the last ten years. And as much as she hated to admit it, he was just…
Perfect, she inwardly sighed.
“It feels all right,” he said, his voice deep and just a little gruff. “Can we try the next size up? I think it’s just a little snug in the shoulders.”
“No problem,” she replied softly as she went to pull another jacket from the rack. After taking all of his measurements – neck, sleeve, waist, outseam, and shoulders – she had been fairly confident that she picked the right size for him. But if he wasn’t one-hundred percent comfortable, who was she to argue?
Stepping over to him, she helped him remove the jacket he had on before handing him the new one. He was mesmerizing to watch. Some guys could come in and try on jackets and it would register zero on her radar, but watching Spencer Buchanan try on a jacket was borderline porn for her right now.
Quickly, she turned away, hung up the jacket and placed it to the side in case he wanted it back for comparison. She seriously needed to compose herself before going any further. If she could, she would have stepped outside to fan herself or grab something cold to drink because it suddenly felt very warm in the shop.
Pull yourself together!
Stepping back up on the platform with him, she began her tasks of smoothing and gently tugging and adjusting and helping him get the true feel of the garment. She wanted to smack herself because she knew she was being a little excessive in the touching department but…she couldn’t seem to help herself.
“How about this one?” she asked, smiling at him in the mirror and hoping he didn’t hear the slight tremor in her voice. “Is this one more comfortable?”
“This one definitely feels more comfortable,” he said, interrupting her thoughts. “I’m not crazy about these trousers, though.”
Her heart kicked a little and she felt a slight flutter in her belly at those words. It was one thing to be able to touch his back, his arms, his shoulders…but to be kneeling down and running her hands over his legs and waist? Well…it had been a little awkward when she was measuring him a few minutes ago and she wasn’t sure she’d survive it a second time.
Clearing her throat, she forced herself to focus. “All of your measurements will go to our warehouse and everything will be custom-tailored for you. The inventory we have here is just the basics, so they won’t necessarily fit you like this.”
He nodded but didn’t really look at her; he was still studying his reflection. “I think the measurements on the outseam weren’t quite right. I’d like to try a pair of different shoes and then measure again if that’s all right with you.”
Um…yes please, she thought and immediately wanted to smack herself. Honestly, she had no idea if any of this was the norm for getting a tuxedo fitting – she’d never had to do quite so much before, but right now she couldn’t find the will to stop any of it.
“No problem,” Penny replied. “Would you like to go pick out another pair?”
For a few minutes, Spencer walked around and tried on shoes while Penny made notes in his file. When he stepped back onto the platform, she was ready with her measuring tape. Standing to his left, she carefully kneeled – not an easy feat in her navy pencil skirt and heels. Doing her best to stay balanced, she carefully measured the outseam with minimal amounts of running her hand along his muscled calf. Standing slowly, she went and did the same on the right.
This time when she went to stand, Spencer stopped her.
“Isn’t it customary to measure the inseam as well?”
Oh. Right. The inseam.
“Um…yes. Yes. You’re right. Sorry about that,” she nervously stammered. “I’m not fully familiar with all the procedures.” With a steadying breath, she moved until she was in front of him. “Can you…um…just widen your stance a little?”
His gaze was a little intense as he looked down at her. Doing as she requested, he asked, “Like this?”
Was it wrong that she could barely remember how to speak because she was eye level with…well…what was a rather impressive part of him?
“That’s fine,” she murmured and did her best to hold the tape measure at the top of his inseam as she ran her other hand down his leg. By the time she got that measurement and did his other leg, she was practically sweating.
Mentally, she was about to congratulate herself on doing the job without embarrassing herself, but as she went to straighten, she lost her balance and cried out as she felt herself about to fall. “Oh!”
Spencer quickly swooped down and banded an arm around her waist to catch her and pulled her to her feet. Chest to chest, her heart racing, Penny looked up at him and knew she was blushing.
“You okay?” he asked, a small smile tugging at his lips.
She couldn’t speak. Up close, he was even more handsome than she wanted to admit. His jaw was rough with a day’s worth of stubble. His lips looked incredibly soft, and when she looked into his eyes, she noticed just a hint of gold in those clear blue depths. Swallowing hard, she nodded.
But he didn’t release her right away. And Penny certainly didn’t feel any rush to move.
It was kind of the perfect moment, she thought. She had no idea what was going on outside, but inside, it was just the two of them and she felt like her heart was beating just a little too hard. Hopefully Spencer would think she was just nervous from almost falling and not from having her hands all over his inseam!
One minute passed, then two – at least that’s what it felt like – when she finally took a step back. His grip didn’t release easily and it was a thrill to think that he was as reluctant to let her go as she was to move away. “Um…thanks,” she said softly, before walking over to the desk to mark down his measurements. “So…I think that’s everything. I have all of your measurements noted and on file. Martin will have them here for you whenever Brett comes in with the rest of the groomsmen.”
Her voice was slightly high-pitched and shaky but…dammit, he made her nervous. Normally, Penny was extremely confident – especially at her job. And yet the last thirty minutes with Spencer had reduced her to a quivering mass of hormones!
There. She said it. She was nervous being around him and beyond turned on.

Synopsis I don’t know what love is anymore.
Well, that’s not entirely true, but I’m going to tell you a little secret: I’ve lost the spark.
You know the kind of spark I’m talking about?
Where butterflies take flight in your stomach from two hands innocently colliding. Or catching your breath when you first meet someone attractive. Yeah, that spark.
Except I haven’t felt that feeling in forever; there is nothing left inside of me.
Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem–but I’m a writer on a serious deadline, and my editor is breathing down my neck for a romantic, Nicholas Sparks type love story. No pressure, right?
That’s how I find myself flying across the country to crash a wedding in the name of research, dress and heels stuffed into my small suitcase.
It should be the easiest book research ever. Drinking some free champagne, basking in the love of two strangers, and tapping into my romantic side. That will be a breeze. I’m a pro. I can handle this.
Until I mistakenly end up in the wrong hotel room, naked as the day I was born, with the sexiest human I have ever met staring me down, wondering what I’m doing taking a shower in his bathroom. I don’t think calling it research will get me out of this pickle.
But it will make for one hell of a story….
Excerpt “What brings you to Key West, Beck?”
I feel like that’s a question I should have asked a while ago but with the whole naked hotel room exposure—which I have yet to tell my friends about—and the sweatshirt burial, we haven’t had a real chance to get to know each other. Not that I’m complaining all too much. What I know about Beck so far is that he’s a gentleman and likes to have a good time, even if that means torching a sweatshirt and sending it on it’s way.
There aren’t many people I know who would stand there, hand over heart, talking about the thread count of a sweatshirt while fake crying.
The corner of my lips pull up just from the image of Beck wiping “tears” from his eyes with the back of his index finger.
“Do you want the truth, or do you want a fabricated lie that will cause you to fall madly in love with me?”
Chuckling, I answer, “Both.”
“Fair enough.” Beck pushes his foot against the sand below us, sending the hammock into a relaxing swing. “Want the truth or the lie first?”
“Hmm, how about I guess which is which.”
“Ah, things are about to get exciting.” He chuckles and rubs his hands together. “Okay, reason number one.” He clears his throat. “I’m attending a wedding this coming weekend, a wedding I wasn’t invited to, but my friend begged me to attend because he wanted to bone his wife without children around. It doesn’t make sense, but hey, I’m a good friend so here I am.”
Errr, that’s eerily familiar. I swallow a little harder than expected. There is no way he’s crashing a wedding like me. That’s only something a desperate author does in order to find signs of love again. “Okay, reason number two.”
“My sister is getting married this weekend and I’m giving her away. Our dad passed away a few years ago from a heart attack, and even though we’d been estranged for two years, she asked if I would be a part of her wedding. So here I am.”
Silently he swings us, my mind whirling with what the truth could be. Both stories were told so effortlessly, so he’s either a really good liar, or some kind of con artist. I should be scared. I should go to my hotel room right now, wishing Beck a good night, but I don’t, because I’m intrigued by this man. Behind the good looks and intelligence, there’s something beneath the surface, something dark that makes understandable the age in his weathered eyes.
Because of that, I go with option number two. It seems the most plausible, because who really crashes weddings? Only crazed women with the tendency to sit in a bush with a notepad and pen and take notes while staring at couples and listening in on their conversations.
Research and all, it comes at a high price, like spikey branches to the tush.
“Hmm, I’m going to go with reason number two.”
He nods and says, “I knew you were going to say that, but you’re pretty little self is wrong. I don’t even have a sister.”
Stunned, I prop myself up as best as I can on the loose woven thread of the hammock and stare him down. “You’re here to crash someone’s wedding?”
He winces. “Uh, yeah, kind of.”
“Unbelievable.” I shake my head in disbelief and lie back down.
“Now before you judge me and give me a lecture about RSVPing—”
“I’m not judging you.” I turn toward Beck, the hammock making the shift slightly difficult. “I’m just a little . . . surprised.”
“I don’t plan on eating any food.” He bites his bottom lip. “That’s a lie. I plan on eating a lot, but hey, I’ll bring the party to the dance floor. If anything, I’m bringing them the gift of dance, so you can’t be mad at me for that.”
“I’m not mad.” I laugh, still surprised. “I’m just trying to comprehend this.” Looking him square in the eyes, I say, “I’m here crashing a wedding as well.”
This causes Beck to sit up, his brawny chest straining the fabric of his shirt. He intently studies me, his eyes flitting back and forth until he finally asks, “You’re serious? You’re really crashing a wedding?”
I press my lips together and nod.
A sharp laugh escapes Beck as he lies down on the hammock and sends our swing into more of a frenzied movement. “I’m just going to assume, given our luck of baby puke, naked encounters—”
“I knew you saw boobs.”
“I didn’t see . . . ah hell, what’s the point? I totally saw your tits and fuck, woman, they’re hot.” I blush . . . horrendously, my face heating up along with every vein in my body. “But like I was saying, with our luck, we’re going to the same wedding.”
Clearing my throat, trying to move past the part where Beck just made my nipples harden and pop out like turkey thermometers, I lamely say, “Yeah, that would be our luck.”
“Let me guess, wedding is on Saturday at The Hemingway House.”
Cue another rush of heat to eclipse my body. “The one and only.”
He nods and lies there silently for a second before saying, “So what you’re telling me is that I have a date for the wedding Saturday night.”
Not expecting him to say that, I laugh out loud and for some reason say, “I’m wearing teal, in case you want to match and take couple pictures. You know, might as well do the whole couple thing up, right?”
This garners, a deep, low, rumble of a laugh from Beck. “Thank God I packed grey pants with a white button-down. There won’t be any kind of clashing in those couple photos.”
“Nope, not even in the slightest.”

Today is release day for THEN CAME YOU, the first book in the adult contemporary romantic comedy/mystery series, The Youngers, a spinoff of the Love Everlasting series, by Iris Morland. See below for information on the book, buy links, and an exclusive excerpt.
Synopsis You met them in DREAM A LITTLE DREAM OF ME. Now prepare to fall in love with THE YOUNGERS, a brand-new series from Iris Morland, full of sexy men, passionate women, and the love stories you can’t get enough of.
After witnessing his parents’ doomed love affair, serial playboy Ash Younger decided long ago that love was not meant for him. With his charm and good looks, he’s never lacked for beautiful women. He may push numbers as an accountant by day, but by night, he’s only interested in having a woman in his bed.
Yet the night he encounters a mysterious—and gorgeous—widow who doesn’t immediately fall under his seductive spell, Ash realizes he wants her more than he’s ever wanted another woman.
Following the loss of her husband two years ago, Violet Fielding wants to focus on two things: her jewelry business and beginning her life anew in the small town of Fair Haven, Washington. She doesn’t have time for men or romance, and she certainly doesn’t have time for a man who’s a well-known playboy and younger than her.
Violet already found the love of her life in her husband, and after his death, she knew she could never love anyone again.
But when Ash kisses her, all of her plans and promises are turned upside down. A passion stronger than either Ash or Violet could imagine envelops them both one night—and that night changes everything.
As old heartbreaks threaten to tear the couple apart, both must find the courage to see that, of all things, love is worth a second chance..
Excerpt They talked into the night, even when the woman from earlier came by to say something to Ash. Looking more closely at her, Violet realized that she must be one of his siblings. They both had the same eyes and hair color, and when the woman smiled, Violet saw Ash in that smile. It was almost eerie.
“We’re all heading out,” the woman said. “You coming?”
“No, I’m staying here for now.”
The woman glanced at Violet, glanced back at Ash, then shrugged. Addressing Violet now, she said, “Make sure he behaves himself.”
Ash rolled his eyes at her departure. “My older sister Thea. She’s a pain in the ass.”
“I just have one older sister. You’re lucky to come from such a large family.”
“That’s one way to put it,” he said wryly.
As the bar quieted somewhat, Ash moved closer to her, like a glacier slowly sliding downhill. And to Violet’s dismay, she didn’t want him to move away. He smelled so good—like wood smoke and spice—and his muscles bulged with each small movement. When he licked his lips after finishing his drink, her heart almost burst from her chest.
Danger, danger. Get out of here or you’ll do something stupid. Like kiss him.
“What time is it? Oh, I need to get home. I need to feed my—” She racked her brain for an animal to feed and finally landed on, “Clown fish. My clown fish.” Clown fish, seriously?
“Your clown fish. He needs to be fed at one sixteen a.m.?” Ash’s lips twitched.
“Yes, he’s a very particular fish. I got him when he was a baby fish and he’s very important to me.”
Violet paid for her drinks—not looking at Ash when she did it—returned her jewelry to her purse and practically sprinted out of the bar.
Ash watched as Violet jogged down the sidewalk away from him. What the hell had he said or done to freak her out like that? He knew very well she didn’t have to go feed a clown fish or whatever it was.
If she were simply uninterested in him, he’d let her be. But he’d seen the interest in her eyes, the way her pupils had dilated, the way she’d crossed her legs toward him. She’d played with her hair, she’d licked her lips. She’d had so many obvious tells that had screamed KISS ME, TAKE ME, that he’d had to restrain himself from kissing her right then and there in the bar.
“Violet, wait up,” he said as he caught up to her. “Hey, talk to me.” He touched her arm, and she stopped walking but didn’t turn to look at him. “Look, if I said something that offended you, I apologize. Let me make it up to you.”
She inhaled deeply before letting out a deep sigh. Her breath puffed white into the cold air. “You didn’t do anything. Really.” She finally looked at him. “Am I allowed to say ‘it isn’t you, it’s me’?”
“That’s almost as big of a lie as your fish.”
She gasped, then laughed. “Excuse you, Marty the fish is very real and very important to me.”
“Marty? Now I really know you’re lying.”

Today is release day for SMOOTH-TALKING COWBOY, the first book in the adult contemporary western romance series, Gold Valley, by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Maisey Yates. See below for information on the book, buy links, an exclusive excerpt, and details on her giveaway.
SMOOTH-TALKING COWBOY (Gold Valley #1) by Maisey Yates
Synopsis Welcome to Gold Valley, Oregon, where a rough-and-tumble rancher and the girl next door are about to learn that opposites attract.
Olivia Logan has a plan: win back her ex by making him see what he’s missing. But first she needs to find a man who’s willing to play along. With his laid-back cowboy charm and knack for getting under her skin, Luke Hollister is an unlikely hero—but he wants her help convincing her father to sell him land, which means he needs her as much as she needs him.
Luke likes his life—and his women—uncomplicated. So why does good girl Olivia heat his blood like no one else? She’s always been off-limits, but the more time they spend as Gold Valley’s hottest new “couple,” the more real it’s starting to feel. Luke was supposed to help her win back another man…not keep her in his arms. But now that he has her there, he’s not sure he’ll ever let go.
Excerpt #2 Luke Hollister was kissing her.
He was only the second man to kiss her. The second man to ever put his mouth against hers. But at the moment, she couldn’t even compare the two experiences. She was frozen, and Luke was still, too, but he was… Him.
He tasted like Luke. Like sunshine and hard work. Like whiskey that lingered on his lips. And like a whole lot of trouble.
It was more than just taste, more than just the strange sensation of a mouth that was an unfamiliar shape pressed against hers. It transcended those physical things.
And it went somewhere deeper.
She was on fire. Melting. Her legs were weak, her stomach trembling. It was as if she had never been kissed before at all. That’s how different it was.
His hand was so big, and it was pressed against her lower back, like he owned her. His other hand came up to cup her face—rough, callused—skimming over her cheekbone. He didn’t take the kiss deeper. Didn’t part her lips.
It was over in less than a second.
A chaste kiss. A simple kiss.
That left nothing chaste or simple remaining in her entire body.
There was a pulse pounding insistently between her legs, a slick wetness that had built up in defiance of everything she knew about herself. Her heart was pounding, her breasts heavy, her nipples tightened into painful points.
It was over. Over long before she was able to move or think or react at all. Over long before she realized they were still standing in the middle of the Gold Valley saloon, rather than in some moment that existed outside of space and time.
Luke Hollister had just kissed her in front of everyone.
Bennett was there. She remembered that too late. She remembered everything too late. Including why they were doing this. Of course. He was making a show, as he had promised he would do. And he was definitely trying to get a rise out of her, which she expected, because he was Luke.
All of that made sense. Except none of it made sense. Not inside of her anyway.
“Throw the dart,” he said, his mouth so close to hers it would take nothing for her lips to touch his again. Nothing at all.
Then he withdrew, taking a step back and leaning against the table again, all cocky arrogance and that kind of masculine swagger she hated. She did. She hated it. And right now she was pretty sure she might hate him, too.
She turned away from him, drew her arm back and threw the dart. And it missed.
She hadn’t missed a bull’s-eye without meaning to in more than ten years.
Hot, angry tears pricked her eyes but she refused to let them fall. Because that was just stupid. This was a game. That was all. It was supposed to be a game where they made Bennett jealous. Where they made him think that he was in danger of losing her.
It was supposed to make Bennett feel wild and unpleasant things; it was not supposed to make her feel wild and unpleasant things.
Too late she remembered to look over at Bennett. And when she did, she had to force herself. He was facing away from them. For all she knew, he hadn’t even seen the kiss.
She blinked, feeling numb. “What?”
Luke was looking at her, his expression grave. “Bennett saw the kiss,” he said.
And just like that, she felt about two feet tall. Because not only had he read her mind just now, it confirmed to her that Bennett was all he had been thinking about during the kiss. She hadn’t thought of Bennett until after. Much, much after. But Luke had been aware the entire time. And then, when she had been standing there feeling vulnerable and reduced, desperately trying to remember the purpose behind this entire interaction, he had read her. Unerringly.
Meanwhile, she couldn’t read him or Bennett or anything. She couldn’t even read herself.
“Good,” she said, as if it was all she cared about. As if there was nothing more conflicting inside of her than whether or not they had managed to affect Bennett.
To say nothing about how she had been affected.

NOBODY DOES IT BETTER (Masters and Mercenaries #15) by Lexi Blake
Kayla Summers was an elite CIA double agent, working inside China’s deadly MSS. Now, she works for McKay-Taggart London, but the Agency isn’t quite done with her. Spy master Ezra Fain needs her help on a mission that would send her into Hollywood’s glamorous and dangerous party scene. Intrigued by the mission and the movie star hunk she will be shadowing, she eagerly agrees. When she finds herself in his bed, she realizes she’s not only risking her life, but her heart.
A leading man who doesn’t do romance
Joshua Hunt is a legend of the silver screen. As Hollywood’s highest paid actor, he’s the man everyone wants to be, or be with, but something is missing. After being betrayed more than once, the only romance Josh believes in anymore is on the pages of his scripts. He keeps his relationships transactional, and that’s how he likes it, until he meets his new bodyguard. She was supposed to keep him safe, and satisfied when necessary, but now he’s realizing he may never be able to get enough of her.
An ending neither could have expected
Protecting Joshua started off as a mission, until it suddenly felt like her calling. When the true reason the CIA wanted her for this assignment is revealed, Kayla will have to choose between serving her country or saving the love of her life.
Her eyes came up, a flash of recognition there. “Yes?”
“Are you going to sign the contract or do you have more questions?”
She picked up the pen sitting on top of the contracts that would bind the two of them together for the next six months. They would reevaluate the relationship at that point in time, but for the next six months, she was his. His bodyguard. His submissive.
Bought and properly paid for. He would take care of her and she would give him what he needed.
She signed with a flourish and sat back, a gleam of curiosity in her eyes.
He was curious, too, and there was zero reason to not satisfy their curiosity. Hard and soft limits had been gone over. They would find their communication style as they went along. But first she should understand that he was in control.
“Come sit on my lap.”
She didn’t hesitate. She stood and turned, shifting so she could maneuver her way onto his lap.
Her weight came down on him and he wrapped an arm around her waist. Damn but she made him feel big. He’d seen her take out a man twice her size, but sitting here in his lap she felt small and vulnerable, and fuck him but that did it for him.
He slid a hand along her knee, letting himself indulge in the silky smooth feel of her skin against his palm. “Did you do as I asked?”
He was well aware his voice had gone husky, deeper than normal.
“Yes, Joshua.” She squirmed the tiniest bit, as though trying to find a comfortable position. It might be difficult for her because she was sitting right on his cock, and it was harder and thicker than he could ever remember it being.
“How can I trust you?” This was all part of the game he loved so much. Here he could let go and play out the darker of his impulses—to control, to take, to possess. See. Want. Have.
“You’ll have to check,” she replied. “Though shouldn’t we go inside?”
He reached out and picked up his cell with his free hand, pushing one number and connecting to the security room. He put them on speaker. She needed to understand what she was up against in order for the game to be fair. “Landon?”
“This is Burke,” the deep voice replied. “Shane’s on patrol. What can I do for you?”
“Burke, I would like to fuck my submissive on the third-floor balcony. Is anyone watching us? Can you see any cameras pointed our way?”
A low, masculine chuckle came across the line. “No, Mr. Hunt. And given the angle relative to the beach, you should enjoy your evening without worry. The only peepers I would worry about would be your next door neighbor, and Jared is out for the night.”
“I wouldn’t care if he wasn’t. Keep up the good work.” He hung up and his hand tightened. “I would prefer when we’re playing that you don’t question me like that. I know where I want to fuck you. I know when I want to fuck you, and I’m in charge. If I want you in the middle of a crowded freeway, your only response is a yes or a no. Not to question me.”
She seemed to relax back against him, as though she was giving up the struggle and choosing to submit. “Yes, Joshua. Yes, I understand, and yes to the sex. Please.”
He liked the breathy little please and loved how she squirmed. Still, he wasn’t absolutely sure she’d obeyed him, and he was a man who required proof. He slid his hand up her thigh. “Spread your legs for me.”

Luca Cipriani knows art. Specifically, tattoos. Patience, focus, and attention to detail are crucial. He’s consumed with it all.
For the past three years, Luca has been building his reputation as the master of ink in Savannah, Georgia. It wasn’t his original plan, but sometimes, lives twist and plans change.
Kerry Frazier knows entertainment. Specifically, event planning. Locations, guest lists, and the hottest trends keep clients begging for more. She’s living the dream.
Even though Kerry’s job is exhilarating and rewarding, it’s also never ending. So a night on the town for herself is just what she needs.
Luca never expected someone like Kerry to waltz into his shop. And blatantly flirt with him, no less. He never imagined flirting would lead to more.
One secret night. That was all it was supposed to be. Until one night turned into two. Three.
Luca doesn’t do feelings.
Kerry can’t do complicated.
What happens when you’re drawn to someone who is bound to break your heart?
Excerpt “Wait,” I say. I lean back and look over my shoulder, surveying the two customers still in the waiting area. I stand from my stool and pull Kerry to Padraig’s space behind the curtain. I’d be scared to go back here, except Stella has been back here and she wasn’t permanently scarred.
“What is this?” Kerry asks.
“Padraig’s room. I don’t know what’s back here. Don’t look at anything. Just kiss me, please.”
I grab her face with both hands and kiss her hard. She kisses me back, and our hands roam everywhere over each other. I breathe in the scent of her hair, and I rustle it by running both my hands up her neck and to the back of her head. I pull her to me as close as I can and press her against the wall to get even closer. I brace one hand against the wall to keep us upright, and I search for and grab her hand with the other. I twine our fingers together and raise them up, resting them on the wall above our heads. Her breathing quickens. I can feel her chest heave against mine. I press myself against her, and she groans.
“Hellooo, Luca,” she says, which causes me to laugh against her mouth.
“God, you’re so hot,” she says to me.
I have to stop before I have her naked in Padraig’s room. I kiss her twice more and press my forehead against hers.
“You have no idea what you do to me,” I say, nearly out of breath.
“I think I may have a clue,” she says, also breathless.
“Go do your thing. I’ll see you back here in a little while.”
She nods and looks up into my eyes. “Okay.”
We stand there, motionless, for a moment. Kerry closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. She places her hand on my cheek. “I think I kind of like you, Luca.”
I smile into her hand. “I kind of like you too. I know.”
“I’ll be back soon.”
“I can’t wait.”
I use my hand on the wall to push myself away from her. Her hand slides from my face as she continues to look me in the eyes.
“See you when I get back,” she says. She slides out from underneath me, her hand gliding the length of my outstretched arm as she slips through the curtained opening. When our hands meet, I grab hers in mine and let her pull me with her until I’m out from behind the curtain too. I let go and watch her walk toward the door. She turns and looks back at me twice before exiting the shop. I continue to watch her, and she gives me one more glance through the window before she disappears from sight. I’m grinning as wide as my face will allow.

Welcome to the blog tour for FREE FALL, a stand-alone adult contemporary romance by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Emily Goodwin. See below for information on the book, buy links, an exclusive excerpt, and details on her giveaway.
Synopsis I’ll never forget the first time I saw Nora Fisher. The way my heart sped up in my chest and blood rushed through every part of me. I was drawn to her the moment our eyes met.
She was beautiful.
Guarded. Damaged. Just like me.
I never meant to hurt the only woman I’ve ever loved. She was light, and I was dark, casting shadows on everything around me. Letting her go meant spiraling back into the darkness only Nora could pull me from. But I’d sacrifice myself a thousand times for her.
Four years later, she’s back, and the passion she ignites makes the fight for her stronger. But the more I try to make things right, the more I realize how complicated things have become.
And now I’m starting to see that maybe her light was never meant to be mine.
Free Fall is a standalone, contemporary romance.
Excerpt #1 They call me a hero.
But to me, I’ll always be the guy who shot his best friend. Some nights, when the air is still and the house is quiet, I can hear it. The whisper of metal on metal as the hammer is pulled back on the gun. Everything comes rushing back. The way the gun felt heavy in my hand. The pungent smell of blood filling my lungs. My finger slipping as I pulled the trigger, slick from my own blood. And most of all, the way Jason’s blood splattered my face as the bullet hit him.
I tell people I blacked out after that, but I remember it all. The screams. The feeling of panic and remorse and terror all at the same time, ripping my heart into a million bloody pieces. When they ask, I tell them the pain from my own bullet wound intensified and I collapsed. Sometimes, I feel bad for lying. But the truth won’t change anything.
“And how are you feeling today, Jack?” Mr. Levine asks, not looking up from his computer.
“Fine,” I reply in a huff, already eyeballing the clock. It hasn’t even been a minute yet.
“Are you still having nightmares?”
That’s the only kind of dream I have, well, if I sleep at all. “Nope.”
“Good, good.” Mr. Levine stares at his computer during most of our meetings. I assume he’s looking at porn. If he is, it makes these meetings a lot less serious. “And what about school?”
“What about it?”
“How are you doing in your classes? What kind of grades are you getting?”
“Can’t you look that stuff up?”
“Oh, I can,” he says, and I want to roll my eyes and call him out for being lazy. But that puts me at risk for getting another counselor, and I like Mr. Levine for exactly that: he’s lazy and doesn’t probe. Nearly a year of these godforsaken meetings is bad enough. I’d lose my shit if I had to sit in with anyone else. “But I want to hear it from you.”
“I get Bs and Cs. Nothing special but nothing terrible.”
“What about football? You still enjoy that?”
“Yes,” I say honestly. It’s probably the only thing I enjoy. It’s the one place I feel the most free. I can’t run away from my life, but I can run on the field. I can’t push, shove, or block my problems in real life, but I make one hell of a defense, even though I’m the quarterback.
“You’ve gotten quite a few marks for unsportsmanlike conduct already,” Mr. Levine says and lifts his gaze from his computer to me. “And it’s the beginning of the school year.”
I shrug. “Just making up for lost time and feeling extra competitive. Don’t want to break our winning streak. Go Bulldogs.”
“Sounds good.” His eyes are back on his glowing computer screen. “You know I’m here if you need to talk. See you Friday.”
I grab my shit and leave his corner office, emerging into a hall that empties into the main office building of Dale Hollow High School. There are three rooms back here: Mr. Levine’s office, the other counselor, Mrs. Freeman’s office, and the conference room they sit you down in when bad shit happens.
I’ve been in all three more times than I can count.
Between the doors to the two counselors’ offices is an ugly armchair that smells like mothballs. I’ve clocked serious hours parked there, waiting to be seen, or waiting while my parents talked with the principal behind closed doors. Today it has a different occupant, and I slow without meaning to.
Her head is turned down to the book in her lap, and raven hair is covering half her face. Noticing me, she looks up, and I’m taken aback by her beauty. Eyes as green as emeralds stare back at me, and her full lips part. She’s gorgeous.
There’s something familiar in her eyes that I can’t place. She looks to be the same age as my sister, who’s two years younger than me. Yet something about this girl makes me think she has experience, and I don’t mean with sex.
She knows life is full of bullshit.
There was a time when I’d flash a smile, lean in, and introduce myself. But those days are gone. Her long lashes come together in a blink, making my heart skip a beat and a rush of blood go to my dick. I quickly walk away before she has the chance to say anything.

Excerpt #4 I put my hand on the side of his face, and he closed his eyes, resting his tight jaw deeper into my palm. The pain in his expression seemed to drift away. Falling into my hand like rain.
My pulse pounded steady in my ears. His lips less than an inch away. I ran my finger over those lips. Soft and full and just a slight bit dry that made me suddenly thirsty. I leaned forward, for the first time unsure of what to do. Kissing other guys had never made me nervous like this before. Kissing other guys had never made me shiver.
I brushed my lips against his. Testing. Waiting. Then he kissed me back. Slow. His mouth closing around mine and pulling me in. Dragging out every second.
It was the kind of kiss that felt like forever. Every touch, every taste, stretching out and lingering, lazy as if time didn’t exist. His tongue running along my lips. My fingertips brushing against the ends of his hair at the nape of his neck. Every sensation, a swirling heat under my skin, winding me higher and higher.
And then I fell. Down, down, down into all those emotions I’d dismissed because in this world there were no happy endings. Futures here were never certain. But right then, with his teeth grazing against my tongue and his hands gripping tight on my hips, everything seemed possible.

Welcome to the blog tour for ONE MORE PROMISE, the second book in the adult contemporary romance series, Band on the Run, by New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Samantha Chase. See below for information on the book and series, buy links, and an exclusive excerpt.
ONE MORE PROMISE (Band on the Run #2) by Samantha Chase
Synopsis Dylan Anders is making amends …to his family …to the public …for letting everyone down Paige Walters has something to prove …to her busy father …to her bossy sister …but mostly to herself Ambitious Paige Walters is ecstatic when she’s hired to recruit celebrities for a children’s literacy campaign – it’s her chance to prove she’s got the chops to make it in the family business. She certainly isn’t going to let some fallen idol screw it up. But as the work brings Paige and Dylan closer together, their attraction grows…and so do their challenges.
Looking over his shoulder at her, he waited.
“Sorry. I didn’t mean to snap at you.”
He smiled. For some reason, she was starting to enjoy seeing him smile. As much as she hated to admit it, Dylan Anders was becoming a friend with whom she enjoyed spending time. Paige no longer looked at their time together as a chore, but rather a perk. Their conversations were always fun and he was quite pleasant to look at.
Not that she went for the scruffy, rock-star type.
At least, she never had until now.
But Paige was far too intelligent to think that someone like Dylan would give her a second look. He was being nice to her because he had to. Or felt like he had to. They had formed a friendship and that was that. During her Google searches, she’d found a plethora of pictures of Dylan with various models and other beautiful and glamorous women. Tall, thin, sexy women. If there was one thing Paige knew about herself, it was how she certainly didn’t fit into that category.
So what if he remembered her favorite sandwich and made sure she had something to eat? He was being nice. Still…no one else around her seemed to care if she hadn’t eaten. And so what if he was concerned about her stressing herself out and tried to find a helpful solution? He was probably bored and looking for something to do to pass the time and figured, as his official assistant/babysitter, she’d be open to entertaining him.
Only…it felt like more. Like he was a genuinely nice guy who put the needs of others before his own. Or was she seeing something that she only wanted to see? True, it had been far too long since she’d been in a relationship or even went out on a date. Maybe she was a little…needy, in the male-companion territory.
And it didn’t help that he was so attractive.
“Dammit,” she muttered.
“You okay?” Dylan asked.
Crap! She hadn’t meant to say anything out loud. “It’s nothing,” she said quickly. “I just hate that everyone isn’t here yet. I should probably make some calls and see what’s going on.”
“You mean call your sister and let her know that she needs to call the talent?” he asked sweetly.
And if she hadn’t found his smile so darn attractive, she’d want to slap it right off his face.
“No,” she said with a hint of irritation. “We’re on the clock and people need to get here now. I’m not starting a phone tree. Excuse me.”
As she pulled out her phone to start making calls, Dylan gave a small shrug and walked over to where a couple of other musicians who were now part of the campaign were sitting.
Great. He had to have a sexy ass that looked amazing in a pair of faded jeans.
“Ugh…I really need to stop thinking like this,” she said with a weary sigh and startled when a voice answered on the other end of the phone.

Today is release day for DROPPING IN, the first book in the new adult contemporary sports romance series, Snow Crossed Lovers, by Carrie Quest. See below for information on the book and series, buy links, an exclusive excerpt, and details on her giveaway.
DROPPING IN (Snow Crossed Lovers #2) by Carrie Quest
Synopsis Natalie Berensen has one short summer to ace her writing class and convince her parents she’s not a hopeless screw-up. No more changing her major once a month, taking time off to travel, or random friends-with-benefits. She doesn’t have time for distractions or hook-ups, not even if her longtime crush is in town for the summer and living in her basement. Who cares if he’s a snowboarding god with six pack abs and a hashtag devoted to his apparently magical penis? She’s not interested.
Until she is.
Ben Easton’s focus and self-discipline is legendary. He’s built a career as a professional snowboarder by training harder than anyone else on the mountain and steering clear of anything that doesn’t take him one step closer to his goal: Olympic gold. Then his best friend crashes in the half-pipe and Ben drops everything to take care of him. No more training. No more competitions. No more snowboarding. It’s over.
He’s back in Boulder to help with Adam’s rehab, not fool around with his little sister’s best friend, no matter how much he loves her laugh or the way her ass looks when she walks up the stairs. There’s no way in hell he’s going anywhere near Natalie.
Until he does.
Contains: a grumpy guard cat with a taste for blood, discussions of Ents as phallic symbols, and plenty of sexy times.
Excerpt Mistake #1: I should have knocked. I know it. But in my defense, it’s only been, like, five minutes since he came down here. I thought he’d be unpacking or something. Not sitting here all hot and shirtless and staring at the intriguingly large hard-on that’s about to bust out of his black boxer briefs.
Mistake #2: Now that I’m here, I should be Usain Bolting my ass up the stairs before he notices me. Instead, I’m stuck in place, my mouth hanging open, perving out at the sight of his naked torso. Because wow. I’ve never written poetry, but I bet if I wrote an ode to Ben Easton’s abs it would win the frickin’ Pulitzer.
And that’s not even mentioning the rest of him.
Like his shoulders, which are broad and strong and make me want to duck under his arm and hide from the world.
And his pecs, which are sculpted like whoa but nowhere near skirting the border of bodybuilder-manboob territory.
And his arms, which are lean and roped with so many muscles that he could hold himself up over me for hours while I writhe underneath him.
And his skin, which is tan and smooth and probably tastes like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. I don’t even like piña coladas, but I still want to lick every single square inch of him while he writhes under me.
And the V of muscle over his hips that points directly to the long, straight, very hard line tenting up his underwear.
That’s currently the part drawing most of my attention.
He sits there on a pile of boxes, leaning back against the wall, one hand clenched on his thigh and the other splayed out on his stomach. His head’s bent down, so I can’t see his face, but he holds himself like he’s weary. Like he’s on the edge of complete exhaustion. I remember the way his face tensed when he saw Piper coming down the stairs, and the way he blinked hard when she mentioned Adam’s name. How he’d hobbled toward his door as soon as she let him go. He’d looked so vulnerable.
Now he just looks sexy as hell. The fingers of the hand on his stomach twitch and my breath hitches. Holy rollers. Then his hand disappears into the waistband of his briefs and he gives himself one long, slow pump, and I can’t help but make a little noise. In my head it’s a moan of longing, but it comes out more like a squeak because I’m smooth like that.
Ben looks up, his eyes meet mine, and he lets me see him, really see him, with no mask. He looks so sad that I take a step toward him, and then another, because when there’s a person sitting in front of you in that kind of pain, you want to help. To offer comfort. Solace.
