He scanned the area around them for fans or customers and didn’t find anyone looking like they wanted to interrupt them. “How many more minutes do you have left before you have to go back on the air?”
Juliet glanced at the console on the table. “Eight minutes.”
“Come with me.” He gestured to the door in the wall behind them.
“The closet?”
“Not exactly.” Gabe checked for prying eyes again, and, finding the coast clear, took her hand and led her to the door. After another sweep for onlookers, he tucked into the dark room with her and quickly closed the door behind them. Inches away from each other, his hands running up and down the silky fabric covering her arms, he seemed to melt into her.
“What—?”
Gabe kissed the corner of her lips. “Hmm, you’re a Pepsi girl,” he whispered before tenderly kissing her on the mouth. “So many things to discover about you…”
“How do you know it wasn’t Coke?” she murmured, tucking her nose under his chin, leaving her hair to caress his skin as she nuzzled into the sensitive area of his neck and kissed him. He leaned back, giving her better access.
“It’s a chef thing,” he replied, barely coming out of his trance long enough to say it.
“Is that so?” She wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his chest in the cozy darkness. “And this room. Is it a chef thing too? How often do unsuspecting female diners disappear in here with you?”
Stroking the back of her head, running his fingers through the soft, thick cascade, he confessed, “Only you.”

About the Author
Former San Francisco disc jockey Kate Kisset is the author of Wine Country Romance. A series of original contemporary romance novels set in Sonoma, Napa Valley, St. Helena and San Francisco, California.
Although Kate wrote her first story in the third grade, she became serious about writing romance after she lost her mother to pancreatic cancer. The tragedy left her searching for, and eventually writing happily-ever-afters to lift her spirits.
Kate divides her time between Northern and Southern California. Her stories feature strong heroes and heroines set in the real-world vineyard settings found outside her front door.
When she’s not writing, Kate’s favorite job is being “The Mommy.” She enjoys hiking, cooking, listening to music and walking her loyal companion, Luciana Parmigiana her rescue-dog-editor.
